This is for Jennie and Brendon. I'm a friend of Jennie's and when I first heard of the trip last year I couldn't believe it. I think I was more freaked out than Jennie. Then I quickly saw the love she has for Brendon and how much support he has from her and realized, "Of course he can do this trip. He has the best wife in the world!" Now I have seen that he has an amazing family in California as well. Good job dad, Jennie told me about your brave hike! Be safe Brendon and you're both in our prayers.

  Trail Dude,

The saying on my calendar today reminded me of you and your trek.

"Somehow, being inspired allows your thoughts to remove any of the bonds that can serve as excuses for not doing what you know you're here to accomplish."

Be safe and have an inspired journey.

Sounds like you met some illegal aliens on the first day. No water! How nutty!

Hi, Guys. I saw the article in the UT about you and had to check out your web site. Very nice job, Dad, and a wonderful thing to be doing for your son! I've always wanted to do some long-distance backpacking but I don't think I'll ever tackle the entire PCT. Maybe I can talk my wife into doing the John Muir with me some time. That would probably be enough to keep me happy for a while. In the mean time I'll just have to live vicariously through you two. Good luck, Trail Dude!! I'm looking forward to following along as Dad documents your excellent adventure!

Hello Trail dude. Happy to hear of your physical exploits, especially when your dad, Ron, went with you on the first day of the PCT. Much luck in this and all other future endeavors. Ron, you are to be commended, not only on the love for your son, but also in the effort & accomplishments. Gil

  Trail Dude,

You are not alone. We are watching. I will be out in front of you from Cabazon to Agua Dulce this year (Big Bear departure coming up Thursday). I will clear a boulder or two from the trail for you.

Peace,
Pink Gumby
